Jamais Vu

Jamais Vu is a French word that describes the illusion of feeling unfamiliar with something that should be familiar. It is the antonym of Deja Vu, which refers to a familiar sensation of something that has been experienced in the past. Jamais Vu can be about a situation where a person has lost associations with places, names, or people that were once deep in their memories. Inspired by the well-known Rorschach test, with the decision to combine moths and symmetry made to depict the innermost workings of the human subconscious. The two types of moths overlap one another, creating a sense of ambiguity in their identity, lost somewhere between reality and dream.
